Translate files or typed text across 125+ languages, formatting kept intact.
Lekhak supports 125+ languages, including every major Indian language (Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Punjabi, Urdu, and more) and world languages such as French, German, Spanish, Chinese, Japanese, Arabic, and Russian.
It very likely is — it may just be listed under a different name. Many languages appear with both their English and their native name in the picker, so look for your own name too: Bahasa is Indonesian (Bahasa Indonesia), Farsi is Persian, Mandarin and Cantonese are Chinese, and Tagalog is Filipino. Browse the full list of 125+ languages to check. If you still cannot find yours, contact us and we will help.
Go to the translate page, upload your file (or drag several in), choose the target language, and submit. You get a translated Word document to download when it is done, and an email if you have notifications on.
PDF, DOCX, DOC, images (JPG, PNG, GIF, WebP), TXT, and Markdown — up to 50 MB per file. Excel, PowerPoint, and CSV are not supported.
For Word documents typed in Word or Google Docs, Lekhak translates at the document level so fonts, tables, headings, and layout stay intact — only the language changes. Scanned files and images are rebuilt into a clean, formatted Word file. You can also control the output font and size on the Formatting & Output page.
Lekhak keeps the original page numbers in the translated output at the spot they appear in the source — so you can confirm all pages are present even without reading the target language.
Yes. The Text tab on the translate page lets you paste or type text and translate instantly. Every user gets a free allowance of 1,000 words/day and 15,000 words/month; beyond that, extra words are billed at a small per-word rate shown live before you submit — see the pricing page for details.
Yes. On the translate page you can copy any image or screenshot and paste it directly — click Paste from clipboard below the upload area, or just press Ctrl/⌘V anywhere on the page. Lekhak reads the text in the image and translates it, exactly as if you had uploaded the image file. Supported image types: JPG, PNG, WEBP, and GIF.
Yes. Pasting on the translate page handles one screenshot at a time, so several screenshots would become several separate jobs. Instead, open the Images to PDF tool and paste each screenshot there — press Ctrl/⌘V once per screenshot and they stack up in order, each becoming a page. Convert to PDF, then upload that PDF on the translate page and it is typed or translated as one document. You can reorder or remove pages before converting.
Yes. Drop up to 50 files on the translate page at once and Lekhak processes them together, showing live progress and emailing you when the whole batch is done.
Lekhak uses advanced AI that understands context, grammar, and document structure, so most documents are ready to use. For high-stakes legal or medical documents we recommend a human review — see our quality guarantee for what to expect.
The self-serve translator is best-effort AI (do-it-yourself). For court, embassy, or official submissions that need a certified/attested translation, we offer that on request — contact us and we will help.
